….or interest in Jordan Rhodes by all accounts!

Despite reports to the contrary, from Here Is The City with one of the things they ‘understood’, Blackburn haven’t opened talks with Middlesbrough’s rivals Sunderland about a deal for Rhodes.

If the Sunderland Echo is right, which given it’s a local paper from the area and they ‘should’ know best, not only have these talks not begun they’ll not be too likely to begin either as the Black Cats don’t have an interest in him!

Dick Advocaat apparently doesn’t have an interest in Rhodes due to him being too similar to Jermain Defoe, who is a goalscorer in the same mould as Rhodes, with Defoe already someone that the Sunderland boss struggles to accommodate into his preferred system as it is.

Boro’s own interest would seem to be at an end with alternative options sourced increasing the likelihood the Scottish international will in actual fact remain at Ewood Park come the end of one more transfer window at least….

Assuming this is the case, and dependant on how well the 25-year-old performs between now and the New Year, this will no doubt change again come January when the rumours and reports return!
