Tony Mowbray has added attacking midfielders Bradley Dack and Ben Gladwin to the Blackburn squad this week but now the Rovers boss is turning his attention to the out and out strikers.

Mowbray has revealed extra training sessions Danny Graham had put in ahead of Blackburn’s pre-season return as focus shifts to the League One season but the boss knows he’s got to give him some help and competition beyond Anthony Stokes.

He told the Official Website: ‘Danny Graham came in for a few days training before pre-season started and it’s great to see that he’s so focused. I’ve talked to him about the focus required. League One is a tough league, but he’s been in doing extra training early on and I`m delighted about that.’

Adding: ‘We do need to give him some help. We`ve got Anthony Stokes, but I need to create more competition really. I need a hungry firing Danny Graham, who feels a younger different type of striker breathing down his neck.’

Given the fact Stokes hasn’t featured since Mowbray arrived and the former Republic of Ireland international wasn’t thought to have a future at Ewood Park, additional strikers is a must.

Rovers had Sam Gallagher on loan from Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday’s Lucas Joao and season-long loanee, Swansea’s Marvin Emnes, but all three have moved on and need replacing.

The boss is aware Dack and Gladwin will add goals to the squad but that trio of attacking talent lost needs replacing, which is what Mowbray is now ‘working very hard’ to do saying fans had to ‘watch this space.’

Mowbray said: ‘We`re looking now. That search has begun. We’ve made some calls to certain clubs and asked about certain players and to the Blackburn Rovers fans ‘watch this space`. Hopefully, over the next few weeks, we’ll be trying to add to that department of our team as well, but I think Bradley (Dack) can score goals, Ben (Gladwin) can score goals, Peter’s (Whittingham) delivery will help us score goals, but yes, at this moment, with Marvin, Sam and Lucas Joao leaving, that is an area of the pitch we need to strengthen and we’re working very hard on that.’
