Reid Becomes A Dingle

How could he do it?? Former Blackburn Rovers defender Steven Reid has signed a contract with our rivals Burnley.

It’s all part of his ploy I’m sure, he’s going undercover to ensure a topflight return is a very short lived thing!!

Our Lancashire rivals have signed up Reid for a year with them looking to add “a bit of experience and know-how” to their squad, which I have to say the thirty-three-year-old will do as he’s been around the block. I wonder what his injury record is like now though?? It was always a problem when he was at Ewood Park, I did like Reidy though.

The experience and know-how of Reid isn’t an issue at all, the same as some of their other signings, but as dallydally point out in the forum the actual quality of the players (Reid included) being signed is debatable, I loved his comment made when responding to a comment on his Dingle signing.

He said: “I don’t think its a great signing. He is a journeyman and Burnley simply aren’t signing enough quality players if they are serious about staying in the Premiership.

“When asked about that Dyche said “I am planning for three seasons – Autumn, Winter and Spring”!!

Very good!!

Elsewhere another former Rovers also has found himself a new club for this season, Aberdeen have signed up David Goodwillie (I still snigger like a schoolboy every time I hear the name) on a one-year contract.

If we’re going to mock our rivals signings then he’s one that they can easily taunt us with as he didn’t prove to be the greatest did he!!
