Handed a trial after being released by MLS side Sporting Kansas City, Cameroonian Yann Songo’o seems to be impressing the right people at Blackburn Rovers. Solid performances against Wrexham, Portimonense and Fleetwood has turned Gary Bowyer’s head, with the Blackburn Rovers manager monitoring the 21 year old’s progress.

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, Gary Bowyer seem’s keen to possibly add the young man to the Rovers defensive line. ‘We`ve been impressed with him. We`ve got him for a little bit longer and we`ll just monitor that situation and see how it goes.’

A solid, robust footballer, Yann has impressed the travelling Rovers fans with his defensive ability, as well as being an attacking threat on set pieces. Yann also fits the bill in terms of Rover’s current transfer signings, with free agents high on the agenda.

Yann continues on with his trial this week, hoping to clinch a first team contract at Ewood Park.
