Rovers have announced an extension to the deal of left back Tommy Spurr.

Spurr, who has been as consistent as the day is long since his move from Doncaster in the summer, has now extended his current deal through to the summer of 2016 – having originally penned a two year deal last season.

The new deal comes as a reward for his form, with him undeniably being the club’s first choice left back.

“I`ve thoroughly enjoyed my first season with the club and I`m delighted to extend my contract by a further year,” Spurr told the club’s official website.

“When the opportunity arose to come to such a big club like Blackburn and play with the calibre of players that are here, I jumped at it and I think it has helped me personally in my performances.

“I’m just glad to have played as many games as I have and I will keep working hard to try and have another consistent campaign next year, when hopefully we can make a real push for promotion.”

Deserved.
