Whilst depth isn’t and has never been a strength of Blackburn Rovers, the fringe players have really stepped up in recent weeks, helping Rovers climb out of the bottom 3. However, Big Sam hopes to have as many of his strongest 11 available to play, giving Vince Grella, Morten Gamst and Roque until kick off to prove their fitness.
‘We are still waiting on Morten at the moment, but we have got Vince back in the line up…..He got a good 60 minutes or so in the reserves on Monday night, so he’s got no problems now’ said Big Sam
As for Roque’s recovery from his injury
‘ It’s a little slower then we would have expected…but again he may be fit to play’
Sam continues on, hinting that our young guns might feature over the close of the season, future stars including Treacy, Olsson, Blackman, Doran and Haworth.
Personally, i feel we should battle it out with our big boys, and give Carlos a chance if things arent looking good.
As for Grella, my sources tell me he is still 1 week away, I hope this isn’t a knee jerk reaction by Sam, and hopefully he is just playing some sort of wicked mind game with Rafa
